Thoughts on Mets prospect Fernando Martinez

Not a well known name anymore, Fernando Martinez was once the mets top prospect and considered untouchable. He was signed at 16 and is now 22. There is no question he has talent, but injuries have plagued him every season. He has arthritis in his knees, which does not improve with age. However, he can turn it around as he just got a call-up friday from Triple-A Buffalo to take the roster spot for injured first baseman Ike Davis, and he will serve as the backup corner outfielder for Mets. Yesterday he ripped a DEEP two run pinch hit homerun, so who knows.
